Not including the Raptor version of the F-150, Houston Ford customers have six trim levels of the truck to choose from. 2017 Ford F-150 trim names definitions
XL
The Ford F-150 XL comes with a 3.5-liter, V-6 engine. It also offers a six-speed automatic transmission, several upgrades for the powertrain are available. Standard features include a dual-note horn, vinyl floor coverings and an auxiliary audio device input port.
XLT
At the next step up the trim ladder is the Ford F-150 XLT. This version of the truck has many of the same powertrain options as the base XL version. The inside of the pickup sets itself apart from by offering additional technology options like Ford Sync and Sync with AppLink.
Lariat
Standard versions of the F-150 Lariat come with two-wheel drive, but use a turbocharged (EcoBoost) 2.6-liter, V-6 engine. A six-speed automatic transmission with towing and sport mode is standard. Far more comfort and convenience accessories become available at this trim.

King Ranch
Performance and premium features start to really come together in the Ford F-150 King Ranch. The truck is powered by a 5.0-liter, V-8 and comes with a number of cutting-edge technology features. An eight-inch productivity screen, cruise control and steering wheel controls are standard equipment.
Platinum
Like many of the other upper trims of the Ford F-150, the Platinum trim offers extended cab options for more passenger and interior cargo space. The Platinum model also has a 5.0-liter, V-8 as standard equipment and comes with a trailer brake controller and trailer sway control.
Limited
Efficient performance and cutting edge technology are at the top of the equipment list for the Ford F-150 Limited. A SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription, Sync 3, Sync Connect and voice-activated navigation are all standard technology equipped to the F-150 Limited. A 360-degree camera for backing up is also standard.
